AIEC Australian International Education Centre assists with Australian study and visa application with work rights, free of charge. Study in Australia is open to candidates of all ages, education backgrounds and you do not need to be a student in your home country. All Australian institutions we deal with are both CRICOS registered for overseas students under the AQF 

AIEC can assist with study or training placements for ANZSCO Occupations on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) through two year AQF study pathways which are CRICOS registered for international students. After successful graduation candidates are eligible to apply for relevant bridging or employment visa, then undergo the "Job Ready" test for skills assessment, followed by migration or sponsorship application.

What can AIEC do for you, for no charge?

  1. Inform you of AQF Australian Qualifications Framework CRICOS Commonwealth Register International Courses for Overseas Students study courses, study options and pathways for all cities, regions, education levels.
  2. Referrals to registered MARA Australian Migration Agents Registration Authority  migration agent for permanent residency PR study pathway, skills assessment and residency application advice
  3. Submit study application(s) including Recognition of Prior Learning RPL credit exemptions assessment and application, plus certify documents .
  4. Liaise with Australia, direct with Admissions Officers and International Administrators, to receive offer from institutions and explain fees (up to half year) and compulsory OSHC student insurance, and follow up on formal Confirmation of Enrolment after payment of fees direct to institution.
  5. Advise and arrange accomodation, airport pick up, other travel, cultural  and entry advice
  6. Direct you through student visa process online or liaise with Embassy Visa Officers.  Assessment Level AL1 and AL2 or 3
  7. Assist with pre departure information including customs information for travellers and follow up during studies to assist with issues or queries on further study pathways.

Australian Immigration Minister's announcement of new Skilled Occupations List – 17 May.  On 17 May 2010, the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, announced the list of occupations included in the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL). The introduction of a new list of occupations is part of a package of reforms that reflects the Government's commitment to a labour market demand-driven Skilled Migration Program.  New List of Skilled Occupations Intended To Replace The Current Skilled Occupation List

The Government will sharpen the focus of the skilled migration program on areas of skills shortage but will maintain the current overall size of the migration program. The overall size of the migration program will remain unchanged with a total of 168,700 places, comprising a total skill stream of 113,850 places, a total family stream of 54,550 places and 300 special eligibility places.

Australia’s move towards yet another national skills shortage has been confirmed in the latest Clarius Skills Index, with demand for skilled labour reporting a significant upswing. The eight categories are Building and Engineering and Computer Professionals, Building and Engineering and Chefs in the Associate Professionals category and Metal, Automotive, Wood and Hairdressers in the Tradespersons categories, which all scored above 100 in the Index.

Australian Immigration Minister's announcement on Skilled Migration visas – 8 February 2010.

Australian My School website launched. The Minister for Education, Julia Gillard, today officially launched the My School website during a visit to Tempe High School in Sydney. My School contains important information about each of Australia’s 10 000 schools including the number of students at the school, the number of teachers at the school and how the school is performing in national literacy and numeracy testing.

From 1 January 2010 applicants who studied in Australia a bachelor degree and who are applying for skills assessment by VETASSESS must demonstrate that they worked in their occupation for one year in a full time position AFTER graduation of the course, before they are able to apply for their permanent residence (PR) visa. After graduation students will have to apply for a visa subclass 485 (Skilled graduate temporary visa) which entitle up to 18 months of full time work. On this visa students must complete at least 12 months of full time work in their occupation. The new program is called “Job Ready Program” and this allows participants more time to gain valuable experience in an Australian workplace. Once this is achieved, students are able to apply for their PR.

AUSTRALIA faces a potential skills shortfall equivalent to 1.4 million workers by 2025 unless the workforce participation rate increases, according to new research that recommends raising the retirement age and boosting skilled migration.

From 1 January 2010, prospective overseas students will need to demonstrate that they have access to at least $18 000 a year to fund their living costs in Australia, instead of the current $12 000. The new figure better reflects student costs in Australia and is consistent with information published for international students in Australian Education International’s (the international arm of DEEWR) 'Study in Australia' guide.

A re-emergence of a skills shortage is expected within 12 months despite business doing all it can to hold on to staff during the economic downturn, a survey finds. The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) and consultant Deloitte warn that the skills shortage will re-emerge when trading conditions improve because of a drop in training and number of apprentices.
